STEAMworks: Who needs reality? Try room-scale VR with our HTC Vive!

Virtual Reality

VR comes to STEAMworks in a big way this year with the HTC Vive—powered, as they say, by the mad geniuses at Valve who make SteamVR happen—which turns more than 100 square feet of our floor space into something just a bit better than real life.Ceiling base station for HTC Vive VR setup
Our base stations are installed and ready to dazzle you. Of course, you'll need to strap on an awesomely geeky headset.

The power and potential of virtual reality in education, as well as in entertainment, is clear to us all. But its unexplored possibilities are still vast. We hope that you'll experience VR at your library and that it will lead you toward new ideas that will someday enhance everyone's reality.

STEAMworks is grateful to Kutztown University's students for the Tech Fee funding that helped bring this technology to the library.

MISSION

To encourage discovery, creation, and learning—beyond the conventional—by supplying. tools, inspiration, and know-how to spark the making, exploring, failing, sharing,trying-again, teaching and experiencing that make for a rich education.
