Coronavirus emergency - resources for students & faculty: Pre-Paid Mailing Labels for Returns

This is a guide to help students and faculty navigate the changes created by the coronavirus emergency during the last half of the Spring 2020 semester.

Returning Print Materials through US Mail and Parcel services

The library is glad to provide prepaid mailing labels to return library materials during the Covid19 emergency.

You may return books and other print materials with the pre-paid label.  Do not return equipment through the mail.  Overdue fines for equipment will be waived during the emergency.

Packing library equipment for UPS delivery:

Ensure the shipping box is in good, intact condition with no damage. If the box has existing addresses or barcodes on it, please remove them or black them out with a marker to help avoid delays.

The laptop should fit the box well and leave ample room for padding (bubble wrap, foam wrap, packing paper).

Equipment should be clean and free of debris before packing. Accessories such as a carrying case, cables, or power cords should be included with the return and secured inside the package. Cables and power cords should not be plugged into laptops when shipped.

Place a thin layer of bubble wrap or foam wrap between the keyboard and screen for protection while the laptop is in transit.

Make certain the equipment does not slide around in the package, then close and tightly seal it with packing tape to avoid damage from moisture. Ensure sufficient tape is used to seal and secure the package.

Attach the pre-paid mailing label and accompanying FRAGILE labels to the package.

Packages can be dropped off at retail locations in exchange for a receipt. Packages can also be handed to UPS drivers, but no receipt will be issued.

Each label will have a tracking number so that UPS can provide a notification when your equipment has returned to the library. Check your spam folder if you do not receive this notification.
