Guide for MAT 220 History of Mathematics with Prof. K. Mace

APA Style

You will be citing sources using the APA (American Psychological Association) style.

APA Style Webpage (Purdue OWL)

A good brief webpage on this style is available at the Online Writing Lab: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/

APA in WORD and EBSCOhost

APA is a very common style and it is included in many software products and search engines.

1) MicroSoft WORD: APA help can be found under the "References" tab in Word.

2) EBSCOhost software:

    a) Cite Tool: EBSCOhost contains a citation generator for all of its indexed articles.  APA is one of the styles included.
    b) DOI: The Cite Tool includes the DOI (Digital Object Identifier).  Use it!

    c) Permalink Tool

We have several copies of the actual Publication Manual of the APA available in the library.
