Tentative Itinerary

Camino de Santiago Itinerary

We will depart from Philadelphia on May 15, 2018 and arrive in Madrid, Spain on May 16. During the first week of our trip we will travel by chartered bus and visit the Cities of Burgos, Leon, and Astorga, and visit many religious, cultural and historical sites along the way. We will complete a short hike to the famous Cruz de Ferro, tour the Knights Templar Castle at Ponferrada and the Celtic Village at O' Cebreiro, and finish the week in Sarria, We will begin our pilgrimage in Sarria, and then walk 115 kilometers along the Camino Frances route to the Cathedral in Santiago de Compostela. After an extra day in Santiago to explore, we will travel by bus to the seaside town of Finesterra, which translates to "The end of the earth", and hike to the lighthouse. We will then return to Santiago, and take a short flight back to Madrid. After a free day in Madrid, we will return to the U.S. on June 4, 2018.
