This is a guide to help students and faculty navigate the changes created by the coronavirus emergency during the last half of the Spring 2020 semester.

Thursday, 12/10: 7:00 am-6:00 pm

Friday, 12/11: 7:00am-5:00pm

Library Hours Dec. 12 to Jan 18 (Winter Session):

Monday through Friday, 12/3: 8:00 am-4:30 pm

Saturday and Sunday - closed.

 Library Re-Opening Plan for Fall 2020 and Spring 2021

for services and policies of the KU Writing Center and the Student Success Center (formerly CASA) please see their respective websites.


▪ ILL/Document Delivery will continue.  Books may be picked up at the Main Desk.

▪ STEAMworks (makerspace) will be by appointment only. 

▪ Research Services will be virtual, through Zoom, Chat, Skype, or appointment

▪ Information Literacy Instruction will continue in RL 29 with a limit of 21 participants

▪ Community patrons, those who are not students or employees of KU, cannot use the building but can use virtual services.

▪ Physical library materials, such as books, reserves, magazines, and equipment will be quarantined for 3 days after each use.

Physical Facility: 

  • Book Stacks will be open and accessible.
  • The Coffee Shop will be closed.
  • Any print resource used will be quarantined for 3 days after each use. 
  • Study Rooms will be closed. 
  • Capacity will be based on 50% where furniture has been removed from the library to promote social distancing..
  • Signage will be placed to indicate flow of traffic and social distancing guidelines. 
  • Hours will remain the same:
    • Sunday 2pm-Midnight
    • Monday-Thursday 7am-Midnight 
    • Friday 7am-5pm 
    • Saturday 9am-5pm 

Face Mask Policy

 Rohrbach Library Face Mask Policy 

1. The library follows campus policy regarding face masks, therefore, students are required to wear face masks when in the library. Students who have received an accommodation to not wear a mask should inform a staff member of the accommodation if asked.

2. Employees are required to wear a mask while at the workplace, unless they are secluded and alone. 

3. Anyone who does not comply, will be asked to please leave the library. 

4. If the patron refuses to comply by wearing a face mask, they will be referred to the Library Director and/or Public Safety.,
