Library guide to the Washington Post digital site license subscription program.

Introduction

Washington Post logo The Rohrbach Library has partnered with The Washington Post to provide students, faculty, and staff with digital access to The Washington Post online, the Post archives and on all apps. 

How to access

There are two ways to access the Washington Post:

Create an account (recommended)

Follow these steps to create a WP account:

  1. Visit https://www.washingtonpost.com/subscribe/signup to sign-up with your Kutztown email address, agree to the Terms and Conditions, and click on Continue
  2. Create a password
  3. You will receive an email, click on the link to verify your account and activate your subscription.

IP access:

On-campus, the Post can be accessed directly at: https://www.washingtonpost.com/.

Remote users will need to authenticate through the library link: https://library.kutztown.edu/wapo. To ensure access to the paper both on and off campus we recommend using the library link above.

 

What's included

WashingtonPost.com

Access to washingtonpost.com website includes:

  • Most useful for current news and events includes access to articles, videos, graphics, photographs, etc. Updated 24/7.
  • Includes a rolling 15 years of content however it is not a comprehensive archive, some articles could be removed for various reasons, The Post Archives (explained below) is the comprehensive archive

 

The Post Archives (ProQuest Historical Newspapers)

Note: You can only access this edition if you have created an account and are logged in.

Includes comprehensive archival access to all content published from 1877 - 2006. The Post Archives is hosted on ProQuest platform.

To access The Post Archives:

  1. Login to your account
  2. Click on your name in the upper right hand corner
  3. Click on My Post from the menu
  4. Under "Explore more of The Post: click on "The Post Archives"
  5. This will direct you to The Post Archives hosted on the ProQuest platform, from there you can conduct a search

What to do if you already have a subscription

If you already have a paid subscription to The Post, you can email EnterpriseSolutions@WashPost.com and request a cancellation. They will process a prorated refund. Once cancelled you can sign up for an account using your KU email following the instructions on this page.
