Kutztown University Open Educational Resources Affordable Course Materials Grant
Purpose
The purpose of the KU OPEN EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES AFFORDABLE COURSE MATERIALS GRANT program is to help faculty adopt Open Educational Resources course materials that will help students in terms of affordability. Faculty who receive funding will transition a course from using expensive, commercially produced course materials to using Open Educational Resources.
Open Educational Resources are “teaching, learning, and research resources that are free of cost and access barriers, and which also carry legal permission for open use. Generally, this permission is granted by use of an open license (for example, Creative Commons licenses) which allows anyone to freely use, adapt and share the resource—anytime, anywhere." (SPARC)
Award
Funded projects will be allotted $1,000 for faculty pay plus benefits for switching a course from commercially produced course materials to Open Educational Resources and completing and submitting faculty and student assessment reports.
Eligibility
The program is open to all permanent tenured and tenure-track faculty members.
