Guide Overview & Description

Write a short description and overview of your guide that clearly explains what it covers and its goals.
Use simple language your readers would use and avoid jargon unless it’s familiar to them.

Example:

This guide outlines strategies to help our department create more consistent, accessible, and effective guides. By following these research-backed principles, we aim to make our guides easier for students to use—and more valuable for their learning

Profile / Author

Students trust guides that have an author

  • Add your profile box with a picture to the lefthand column of the home page so readers can see who you are and know you're a friendly contact for help.
  • The profile box should include your photo, name, email, phone number, office number
  • If it doesn't seem appropriate to add add your profile for one reason or another, make sure to include an authorship box instead.

 

Creative Commons License

Include a Creative Commons license box or footer on the guide's home page or footer to signal how others can reuse your work.
