Welcome to my Honor's Capstone Project, a LibGuide on the Portrayal of the Holocaust in Young Adult Literature! This page is aimed to assist current and future educators in teaching the Holocaust, provide sources for research, and be a place for people interested in the topic to find books and learn more. To learn more about how this LibGuide came to be, check out the About the Author page!
As you can see on the left, this LibGuide has tabs for the welcome page, books in order of author, books in order by collection, popular subjects, information about banned and challenged books, postcards for books, and a last tab to learn a little about me and how the guide came to be. For more details, see the tab, but here is a brief overview:
The Welcome page has this How to Navigate box, which tells you how to navigate the LibGuide and under it is the Helpful Websites box, which has websites that would be useful when teaching about the Holocaust, if you want to learn more about the Holocaust, and find more books about the Holocaust that are not at Rohrbach.
The By Author page includes all the relevant books in Rohrbach organized by the author's last name.
The By Collection page divides all the relevant books in Rohrbach into which collection they can be found in in the LIbrary. This includes the Leisure Reading, Library Science, and Main collections. The Leisure Reading and Main collections from there are organized by call number. The Library Science collection is different, where there are tabs to Biographies, Fiction A-F, Fiction G-M, Fiction N-Z, and Non-Fiction. From there, like the other collections, it is organized by call number. To learn more about how to find the collections in the library, see the By Collection page.
The By Subject page has tabs to popular subjects seen throughout the books. Under each subject is a tab to a collection which is then organized by call number.
The Banned/Challenged Books page includes a link to Book Resumes, as well as helpful articles about banned and challenged books as well as censorship on the first tab, labeled Resources. The second tab is labeled Books has books from the catalogue that have been banned/challenged with their book resume.
The Book Postcards page has postcard-sized inserts for books that include important quotes and can be used to assist in teaching about the book.
Lastly, the About the Author page gives information about who I am and my contact info, my favorite books and quotes from the guide, and how this LibGuide came to be.
