This guide highlights resources helpful for education majors or those using education-related information and collections.

Curriculum Materials Center

The Collection: The Curriculum Materials Center (CMC) is located on the Ground Level of Rohrbach Library. The collection provides an array of PK-12 resources to support the College of Education curriculum and showcase materials commonly used in U.S. public schools.

Organization: The collection uses Library of Congress classification for call numbers and is divided into three areas: books, kits, and posters.

• Books (including most textbooks) are located in the open stacks. Most books circulate for 28 days. AIMS books and all textbooks circulate for one week. Books that are a part of a kit are typically located with the kit in the kit room, but if there are kits and textbooks that are separated, there is a sticker indicating that on both the book and the kit.

• Kits are located in the enclosed area of the Center referred to as the “kit room,” but they can be accessed like any other area of the CMC. Kits circulate for one week. Some kits have a red label over their barcode. These kits do not be checked out for various reasons. If you need to use one of these kits outside the library, please contact Karen Wanamaker, Education Librarian.

• Posters are located in two large drawer units directly outside of the kit room. These posters have many educational purposes and often include a teacher's guide. Posters circulate for one week. Lists on the top of the units detail what is in each drawer.
