Free Subscription to The New York Times

How to access:

  1. Sign up for access or renew your pass* at the library's special registration link: 
    Do NOT USE the CHROME browser when signing up for the NYT. Chrome thinks the get an account page is spam and it causes all kinds of problems.  Use Firefox, Safari, or Edge instead.   It is okay to use Chrome once you have a login and password.
  2. Once you create your account simply go to and login using your new credentials.

* - If you already have an account:

  • Student passes last up until 12/31 of the year they graduate.
  • Faculty/Staff - must renew their pass once every four years by visiting the library link above, click on "Already have an account?" and login.

Your subscription includes the entire run of the NYT from 1851 - to today.

Free Subscription to the Washington Post:

Create an account, follow these steps to create a Washington Post account. Note: You must complete all the steps below.

  1. Visit to sign-up with your Kutztown email address, click on Continue
  2. Create a password
  3. You will receive an email, click on link to verify your account
  4. Click on your name in the upper right-hand corner
  5. Click Account Settings
  6. Click the My Subscription tab
  7. Click Activate free digital access

Important: Your email has to be Verified, if for some reason it is not, click "Unverified" to be sent another verification email.

The WP Archive 1877-2005 (its own separate account)
